Water Color Day (a poem)

A toddler must have painted today

Mixed the colors into gray

Put a little too much water in

Until the world was wet and sodden

Is that why the spring’s so soggy?

Because the year’s so young?

Yet when it grows a little bit

We’ll have colors far-ward flung.
